Builder's Description: Home is a critically lauded, luxury condominium building that is located on Bloor Street beside High Park. Canadian Architect Magazine, Canada's national design journal, awarded the building its annual award. The rarity of a multi-unit residential building winning such an award is testament to the caliber of its design. About the Project - The site presented numerous difficult challenges - steep topography, geotechnical and environmental issues, and a hostile neighbourhood. Context was able to overcome these challenges and create a building that is both luxurious, and well designed, yet neither ostentatious nor gaudy. It is a highly responsive design that takes full advantage of its steeply sloped site and southern exposure to provide passive solar heating, unique suite designs (many with double aspect) expansive terraces and magnificent views.
