Builder's Description: Radio City is the redevelopment of the former Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's headquarers and studios. The CBC Buildings on Jarvis Street were the original home of Havergal Ladies College and, prior to that, the home of Sir Oliver Mowat, former Premier and Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario. Following World War II, the site was acquire by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and used as its main English language studio and broadcasting facility, functions that were subsequently moved to the new CBC headquarters on Front Street. The Jarvis Street Studios was home base for many of Canada's favourite shows, broadcast personailities and celebrities. Context worked closely with the National Ballet School of Canada to create an integrated site plan in which a wide array of building types on two separately owned lands were skillfully knitted together into a lively piece of urban design. Radio City is the most innovative and imaginative condominium project to hit Toronto in years. Two towers and street townhomes. The architecture is hot. Ditto for suite designs. Each highrise home has a balcony and brilliant views. From floor-to-ceiling windows. Check out the lake. Check out downtown. Check out uptown. From there you're 10 minutes from restaurants, clubs, movies, and shopping. You're about halfway between Bloor and Queen. The Hangar and Holt's are within your sights and getting anywhere is easy.
