Phase 1 of River City will contain an approximately 15,000 square foot landscaped courtyard of architecturally undulating landforms, with an illuminated outdoor heated pool on a floating deck, together with an outdoor dining area nestled in a grove of trembling aspens. A double storey lounge and party room, located in a "lightbox" cantilevered out of the south side of the River street building towards the Richmond-Adelaide ramps, will contain a kitchen and bar, lounge seating, wireless high speed internet access, a billiards table and a media area that can be booked for movies and sports events. There will also be a separate indoor/outdoor lounge and party room located on the ground floor of the King street building, overlooking Don River Park. Residents of Phase 1 of River City will also benefit from fully equipped exercise rooms, containing free weights, weight machines and state-of-the-art cardio equipment, one located on the second storey of the River street building amenity room, and the other in the King street building, as well as a furnished guest suite, to be located in the King street building. condo description
Builder's Description: As the first phase of Toronto's new revitalized waterfront, River City is Toronto's groundbreaker for the twenty first century. A five building community of over 900 loft-style condominiums and family-friendly townhouses, together with street-level restaurants, cafes, and boutiques, it is about a new way of living, and a new style of living, unlike any other in Toronto. River City also sits adjacent to Don River Park, nearly eight hectares of parkland built atop a flood protection embankment. River City will be built over the next seven to ten years. The extensive waterfront revitalization master plan calls for 6,000 residential units, 1,200 of which are to be affordable rental housing. There will also be one million square feet of employment space, an elementary school and two child-care centres. West Don Lands is the site of the 2015 Pan Am Games Athlete's Village, which will deliver 2,100 of the total 6,000 units.
Phase 1: The first phase of River City will be ready for occupancy starting in 2012. Phase 1 to contain a total of approximately 350 suites, with approximately 250 suites in the King Street building and approximately 100 suites in the River Street building. Both buildings will have striking lobbies and will be connected by a 3-storey bridge. Tentative occupancy for River Street building - November 2012, and King Street building - February 2013
