One Sherway is the first phase of a master planned condominium community that will, when completed, consist of four towers and a one-acre privately owned but publicly accessible park. With its highly visible location at Evans Avenue and the QEW, One Sherway functions as a landmark tower marking the western gateway to the City of Toronto.

As part of the re-development of the site from its former use as a nursery retail operation, the intersection of Evans Avenue and The West Mall was reconfigured to adapt the expansive suburban-style intersection into a more urban configuration. This resulted in the creation of surplus lands at the northeast corner of the intersection, which were converted into landscaped open space with an integrated seating area.

To complement this new streetscape, grade-related units with front doors accessible from the street were created and a pedestrian lobby entrance on the corner was provided. By using brick and stone cladding materials, an effort was made to distinguish the podium from the tower, creating a warmer, human scale. All of these initiatives help to create activity on the street, re-enforce the street edge and provide definition and interest at the pedestrian level.
